LA LUMIÈRE VENUE DU NORD / LAST COPIES
LA LUMIÈRE VENUE DU NORD / LAST COPIES
INTRODUCTION
This book accompanies my first retrospective exhibition that started from Pavillon Populaire in Montpellier and traveled to Fotohof, Salzburg and Turku Art Museum, Turku, Finland, 2016-2017. It presents my main bodies of work in a reverse chronological order, sometimes mixing and melting into each other, like the fuzzy memories of times past. Gilles Mora, the renowned photography historian and director of the Pavillon Populaire traces my trajectory and positions my work on the general map of image production in relation to the past and the present. Elina Heikka and Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger, director and chief curator of the Finnish Museum of Photography, discuss with me what it means to an artist to be “mid-career”.
